This is a fabulous slide, the children love it, delivery was very quick, in a HUGE box, on a pallet which we had to unpack in the drive as it was far too large and heavy to take into the back garden. The grey blends into the garden a bit more than bright blue would and its extremely stable due to the wide flat base on the slide part and the stairs. The steps are very grippy with quite a rough feel, not sharp, just enough to stop enthusiastic children from slipping. I also like the fact that because it is all plastic there is no danger of electrocution. The only thing we have had to do is make it very clear to the children that they don't stand on the top, that is a very long way to fall. They know they will be banned from using it if they do, so they are all adhering to this rule, including my teenagers.

The water supply was very easy to plumb in, although you need a rubber reducer to link the American inch pipe to standard metric pipe. It has a valve on the slide itself but we installed a shut off valve at the inlet pipe by the filter to be able to isolate the whole slide.

The only slight hiccup was that one of the fixing holes wouldn't line up no matter how much we fiddled around with it, so we ended up drilling one of the holes. At this price I would have expected the holes to be perfect. You really do need two people to manoeuvre the slide during installation although one competent diyer could put it together with occasional help when needed.

We have a curved pool so we had to be careful with positioning, to make sure we adhered to the landing distances. We also fixed it into wooden joists as we have wooden decking around our pool so we had to buy 8 big coach bolts for the fixing and noggin the existing joists in two places to make sure all the bolts were fixed into something very solid.

One thing they don't tell you is that it is easily tall enough to walk under! Even my 6ft1 husband only has to bend his head down a bit. That's actually more useful than you would think! At 110kg that same husband also loves to use the slide which has absolutely no problem in accommodating him, or my 10 year old. It might be a bit high for very young children, We did think about the turbo twister but chose this due to size and the cost compared to a relatively short swimming season in the UK. I think either are great. We've only had it for a short time so in terms of longevity I can't comment except to say it is made of sturdy plastic and seems well manufactured. I'd definitely buy it again, even though it does cost an arm and a leg!
