WAECO CoolFreeze CF26 Portable Coolbox/Freezer

This cooler is the replacement for the well established CDF25 but this cooler now has mains built in. In a new design which is simple to use and comes with all the leads to connect to 12/24 volts DC and 240 volts AC. Due to this portable cooler/freezer having a brand new, compact compressor it is now even lighter and the extra slim design means it will fit in any narrow gap perfectly, making this coolbox ideal to use as a car fridge for example.

It provides top of the range performance with refrigeration and deep-freezing down to -18°C with minimal power consumption, regardless of the ambient temperature outside.

This has an Energy Efficiency Class A++ featuring an electronic digital thermostat with a really nice updated temperature display, 3-stage battery protection and LED interior light.

The Waeco CF26 is extremely Robust & sturdy for travelling in all ambient conditions, it can operate with a tilt angle of up to 45 degrees. Also has reduced ventilation requirements compared to other refrigeration principles.

  1. Very pleased with it - works much better than cheaper coolboxes 4 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Aug 2017

I have only used this as a fridge so I can't comment on how good it is as a freezer. I bought it to replace a cheaper coolbox which only cooled to 25 degrees below the ambient temperature. I've used it on 12V and AC mains and it works just the same on both. It is simple to use - now I've set the temperature, the only control I use is the on/off switch. It makes a little bit of noise while it is getting down to temperature. Once it gets there, it doesn't seem to come on very often and I stopped noticing the noise after a while. I used it in an awning (which got quite hot at times) but the fridge maintained the set temperature without problem. It's great you can stand up bottles - makes a great water, beer and wine fridge. Do not compare this unit with cheap coolboxes.

  2. Excells in every way! 5 Star Review

I bought this compressor fridge following a friends recommendation. After a few weekends away with him I couldn't believe how cold the fridge was at all times. It uses very little power and is practically silent. It's suppressing how much you can fit in it too. The build quality is top notch and it cools to the desired tempriture in no time.

I've bought the fridge to be used in my 1970's Vw bus. For those of you loooking at this product and wondering where to put it. I've managed to get it to sit in the walk through section between the front seats. It fits that well I would have bought it was made for the job.

  3. great coolbox 5 Star Review

I`m doing a micro camper van conversion (fiat dolbo) and wanted a coolbox that did not require vents cutting in the side of the car like a 3 way fridge. After much research this coolbox was the one I decided on. Its quite expensive, but worth every penny. It does make a small noise when it is cooling items down, but then switches itself off when its reaches the desired temperature, and hold this temperature very well.
It has a built in voltage reducing transformer, so you don`t have to buy one to run it off 240 volts at a campsite hook up.
There are cheaper ones on the market, but I think it is worth paying the extra for thi quality coolbox.

  4. A must have piece of kit... 5 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Aug 2016

Bought our CF26 to replace a larger older non Waeco unit; so we had positive experience over the electric toolbox options and ice bricks.

This product "deserves" praise... does exactly what is says it will do.

Our recent tour included Spain at 35˚C and South of France at similar temperatures... no problem for the CF26...

We used it everyday, for 3 weeks for fresh food and drink. For VW T5 T6 Caravelle owners, It fits perfectly between the 2 rear Captains chairs, not using valuable rear boot space. It was regularly left running in our T6 overnight at -1˚C and was still running in the morning at -1˚C, with no adverse effect on the battery.

On occasion we took into the hotel room with no fridge and plugged it into the mains with the mains lead supplied.

A fantastic product, could not be better and worth every penny spent.

  5. Very good purchase 4 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Aug 2016

    Very pleased with the CF26.
There have been some confusing and contradictory reviews of this product but we've found it excellent.
has worked very well, kept its temperature and has good capacity.
It's quite heavy and not very portable but once in the car, it's stable and has done the job on long trips to Italy. Recommended.
