How will Poolsolar Solar Matting heat up my swimming pool?

Simply, solar matting is pre-fittted to inter-connected P.V.C manifolds that need to be plumbed directly to the swimming filtration plant. From here, filtered water is passed through strips of E.P.D.M quality P.V.C solar matting which is heated by the sun’s rays, in turn heating up the water of your swimming pool.  (Not fur use with Intex and Bestway type pools with cartridge filter pumps)

Where should I install the PoolSolar Matting Heating System?

Essentially, PoolSolar Solar Matting can be installed almost anywhere you want – directly on your lawn or on a roof (subject to height and pump size).  If you’re installing PoolSolar Matting on a ground surface i.e. for small above ground or splasher type pools, then please be aware that PoolSolar isn’t designed to be walked on!

What else can I do to get the most out of my Swimming Pool Solar Matting?

PoolSolar solar matting ideally should be positioned facing the sun as much as possible and ideally 30 degrees (above horizontal) facing south, and as a general rule, maximum working pressure shouldn’t be above 1.5 BAR (22 psi).

Ensure that pipe work to and from the solar collector can also be drained for the Winter period to prevent damage. To do this we recommend using either a time clock (to automatically turn off the swimming pool system during times when it isn’t needed) or installing an automatic control system.

How do I install a PoolSolar Matting Heating System?

What size solar matting do I need?

Under standard conditions, you need to take only half of the surface area dimensions of your pool as a guide for how much solar matting you require.

So, for example, if your 30x15’ pool is 450 sq ft, then you’ll require approximately 225sqft of PoolSolar solar matting to heat it (please see the chart at the bottom of page for more details).

So, for South East and South West facing positions in cooler climates, then heating from the solar matting should be increased by 35-45%.

Shown below is the minimum and optimum number of rolls required. For above ground swimming pools we have reduced the amount of solar collectors by 20% to allow for heat absorption through the steel wall structure.

Plesae note: You will need to purchase enough solar matting to cover 50% of the swimming pool surface area.

If a heat retention cover is not to be applied overnight then you will need to double the quantities below.

5 Year Warranty

Poolsolar warrants the solar collectors to be free from defects in material and workmanship and to perform under normal use and service for five years from the date of purchase receipt, providing that the solar collector has been installed in accordance with Poolsolar installation instructions. The warranty is limited to the original customer purchaser and is not assignable.

Repair: If a defect in materials or workmanship becomes evident during normal use and service within five years, we will supply replacement parts free of charge, within a reasonable time, without transportation costs (limited to United Kingdom).

What is not covered

• Poolsolar will not be liable for consequential damages to you home or other equipment, loss of time, inconvenience or loss of use of the solar collector.
